Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from London

The Short Version

I am Emily Carter, based in London, and I have spent the last few years documenting my experiences at fitness clubs across United Kingdom.

This site exists because I got tired of choosing gyms based on ads and vague recommendations, only to discover the reality differed from expectations. I wanted specific, honest information about what these places were actually like. Since I could not find it, I decided to create it.

Twelve-plus Gyms Visited
Three Years Active
Two hundred or more Classes Attended

How This Started

My fitness routine began in a small club near 10 Apex Road in London. It was not perfect, but it was accessible, affordable, and it helped me build consistency.

After that place closed, I noticed how quickly the fitness scene in United Kingdom was evolving. New clubs opened, new concepts appeared, and marketing became louder than real member experience.

I started trying different gyms and classes, keeping notes after every visit. Over time those notes turned into this website, built to help others make clearer choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Every review on this site comes from real visits and real time spent inside the club. I focus on practical details that matter when you are choosing a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Spend enough time to understand routines, peak hours, and patterns
  • Visit on different days and at different times
  • Try more than one training format and instructor
  • Use amenities regularly to judge cleanliness and comfort
  • Talk to other members about what is consistent and what is not
  • Write notes immediately after each visit

I update reviews when circumstances change significantly: renovations, management changes, pricing adjustments, or new facilities. Each article shows its last update date so you know how current the information is.

What I Look For

My priorities might differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when evaluating a fitness center:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel genuinely well-designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a calm atmosphere?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do things get fixed promptly?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without waiting constantly?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in London. This project is here to make fitness choices easier and more transparent for people looking for the right environment.
